SUMMARY:(R2.1) Residential - Air Sealing to 3 ACH50 (Pt 1)
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: To attend this session\, registrants must log in using Web browsers Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox (most recent 2 versions)\nClick Here for Full Attendee System Requirements\n\nCONTINUING EDUCATION: \n\nArchitects 1.5 AIA LU | HSW\nHome Performance Contractors 1.5 BPI CEUs\nCode Enforcement Officials 1.5 NYS DOS In-Service Hours\, Topic 3 (Energy Code)\n\nTo receive credit\, participants must log into the GoToWebinar application within the first 15 minutes of the training and stay until the end of the webinar. VIDEO VIEWING IS REQUIRED! \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION:\nRelevant market research\, including the DOE Residential Field Study\, revealed significant noncompliance with 3 ACH50\, and multiple other field studies in nearby geographies and uncovered lack of proper insulation installation. This webinar training covers air sealing\, air barriers\, blower-door testing\, identification of potential leakage sites in CAD details\, 3D graphics\, and photographs\, for single family residential including other issues\, such as party walls\, in low-rise multifamily. This webinar is Part 1 of a two-part series on energy code envelope requirements. Both webinars include test-your-knowledge questions\, and guided discussion of pros/cons of various strategies. \nLearning Objectives:\nAttendees will be able to…\n1. Understand how to review\, install\, and inspect details necessary to achieve an envelope leakage rate of 3 ACH50 or less\n2. Differentiate between several air sealing techniques\n3. Identify and resolve common leakage areas\n4. Understand code requirements for air sealing from the 2020 ECCCNYS Table 402.4.1.1 Air Barrier and Insulation Installation.

SUMMARY:(R1.3) The Energy Code and Additions\, Alteration\, and Repairs and (R 3.1) Residential Air Barrier and Insulation Installation - (MS Private Event - Home Builders\, Remodelers Association Central MA)
DESCRIPTION:Please Contact Patricia Chalifoux to register!\nE-mail: pat@hbracm.com\nPhone: 508-791-5595\nHome Builders\, Remodelers Association Central MA\n51 Pullman Street\nWorcester\, MA 01606\nwww.hbracm.com \n  \nCEU’s – 2 CSL Credits \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION: \nResidential renovations\, alterations\, repairs\, and additions make up the largest proportion of building permit applications; yet\, confusion abounds as to how the energy code applies such as when duct testing is required\, how should ducts be insulated\, and blower door testing requirement for additions. This course will cover several of the most common types of existing home projects and describe the applicability of the most important energy code provisions. \nChecklistThe installation of a continuous air and thermal barrier is perhaps the best and most cost-effective way to reduce energy waste and save money on utility bills; at the same time\, important details are often missed. This course will be framed around the 2018 IECC Air Barrier and Insulation Installation criteria found in Table 402.4.1.1 with photos and graphics to illustrate non-compliant and compliant installation of critical details like attic penetrations\, wall-to-ceiling transitions\, rim joists\, garage walls\, knee walls\, and tubs and showers on exterior walls. Installing and inspecting insulation to meet code and manufacturer requirements will also be discussed.
