SUMMARY:C-NY-5 Decarbonization Station: Electrification and the 2025 ECCCNYS for Commercial Buildings - PART 2
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION \nNew York has taken steps to reduce fossil fuel use in new construction\, marking a significant milestone in achieving the state’s climate goals. This course will discuss electrification and decarbonization provisions in the 2025 ECCCNYS. Part 2 will discuss the benefits of electrification on health\, safety\, and welfare and discuss code provisions relating to energy monitoring\, renewable energy\, electrification\, energy storage systems\, high efficiency building\, demand response\, and Electric Vehicles. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the technologies behind electrification- like heat pumps\, heat pump water heaters\, induction stoves\, and more. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \n1. Examine the link between electrification and health\, safety\, and welfare. \n2. Describe how a heat pump works. \n3. Explain New York State’s climate goals. \n4. Analyze how the 2025 ECCCNYS promotes decarbonization. \nIf you do not receive your registration confirmation email and access link\, send an email to psdtraininghelpny@psdconsulting.com

SUMMARY:C-NY-2 Comfort and Quality: Commercial Building Thermal Envelopes - PART 1
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION \nThis course will take a deep dive into the requirements for the building thermal envelope in Section C402 of the 2025 Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State. Part 1 will specifically look at the changes between the 2020 ECCCNYS and 2025 ECCCNYS\, as well as the updates to the prescriptive insulation and fenestration requirements\, and air barrier\, air sealing\, and insulation installation criteria along with the requirements for air leakage testing. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \n1. Compare the minimum prescriptive insulation requirements for the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS. \n2. Identify the insulation levels required by the 2025 ECCCNYS for above grade walls\, floors\, ceilings\, slabs and foundation assemblies. \n3. Recognize the benefits of air barriers and air sealing the thermal envelope. \n4. Describe the air leakage testing requirements in C402.6.2. \nIf you do not receive your registration confirmation email and access link\, send an email to psdtraininghelpny@psdconsulting.com
