SUMMARY:R-NY-3 Mechanical Systems Made Simple: HVAC Requirements in the 2025 ECCCNYS - PART 2
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION: \nThis course will examine the requirements for mechanical systems in Section R403 of the 2025 Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State. Part 2 will cover the Manual S requirements outlined in Section R403.7 of the 2025 ECCNYS\, explaining how following Manual S can both reduce energy bills and enhance comfort. According to a 2015-16 study on single-family residential homes\, only 14% of homes meet the code requirement of designing mechanical equipment based on ACCA Manual S and Manual J. The discussion will include the ACCA design process\, as well as the Manual J load calculation process and modeling\, which is the first step in sizing equipment properly. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES: \n1. Be able to explain why proper sizing of mechanical systems is important. \n2. Compare and contrast Manuals J\, S\, and D reports \n3. Identify common errors when reviewing manual J\, S\, and D reports \n4. Calculate the minimum required flow rates for whole home balanced mechanical ventilation \nIf you do not receive your registration confirmation email and access link\, send an email to psdtraininghelpny@psdconsulting.com

Determine the number of credits required for compliance with Section R408 for different building types. \n3. List the options that are available to earn credit from Section R408. \n4. Analyze Section R408 changes between the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS.

SUMMARY: C-NY-1 Cracking the Code: Commercial Updates in the 2025 ECCCNYS - PART 1
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION \nThe 2025 Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State (2025 ECCCNYS) has been adopted and is effective for new buildings starting on December 31\, 2025. This course will provide an overview of the major changes between the commercial provisions of the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS. Part 1 will look at the changes in the requirements for the building thermal envelope\, mechanical systems\, and more\, highlighting the major changes from the code update. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \n1. Determine which provisions of the 2025 ECCCNYS apply to projects following the prescriptive and simulated building performance pathways. \n2. Recognize the major differences between the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS for the thermal envelope\, mechanical systems and lighting. \n3. Examine which code section is applicable for different building components. \n4. Compare the minimum prescriptive insulation requirements for the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS. \nIf you do not receive your registration confirmation email and access link\, send an email to psdtraininghelpny@psdconsulting.com

SUMMARY: C-NY-1 Cracking the Code: Commercial Updates in the 2025 ECCCNYS - PART 2
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION: \nThe 2025 Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State (2025 ECCCNYS) has been adopted and is effective for new buildings starting on December 31\, 2025. This course will provide an overview of the major changes between the commercial provisions of the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS. Part 2 will cover lighting\, compliance path options\, and more\, highlighting major changes from the code update-along with an in-depth review of Section C406\, relating to additional efficiency requirements\, which is a point-based credit system that requires buildings following the prescriptive path to earn a minimum number of credits to show compliance. It will also explore which credit options are available in this section as well as how \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES: \n1. List the number of additional efficiency credits required in Section C406. \n2. Compare and contrast when additional efficiency credit requirements (in C406.1.1) and additional efficiency and load management credit requirements (in C406.1.2) apply. \n3. Apply Table C406.2 to commercial building projects based on the occupancy type and climate zone. \n4. Describe the additional efficiency requirements for building core/shell and build-out construction.
