SUMMARY:C-NY-2 Comfort and Quality: Commercial Building Thermal Envelopes Part 2
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION \nThis course will take a deep dive into the requirements for the building thermal envelope in Section C402 of the 2025 Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State. Part 2 will discuss new provisions in the 2025 ECCCNYS relating to thermal bridging mitigation in Section C402.7 and will discuss other practical approaches to mitigate thermal bridges across the building thermal envelope. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \n1. Define “thermal bridge” and explain the importance of mitigating thermal bridging to improve energy efficiency and reduce heat loss in buildings. \n2. Examine how the code regulates thermal bridges in Section C402.7. \n3. List the exceptions to Section C402.7. \n4. Determine strategies for addressing thermal bridges in balconies and floor decks\, cladding supports\, structural beams and columns\, vertical fenestration\, and parapets.

SUMMARY:R-NY-2 Tight Homes\, Bright Futures: Bringing Comfort to Building Thermal Envelopes
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION \nThis course will take a deep dive into the requirements for the building thermal envelope in Section R402 of the 2025 Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State. Part 1 will review the changes between the 2020 ECCCNYS and 2025 ECCCNYS\, and the updates to the prescriptive insulation and fenestration requirements. \n  \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \n1. Distinguish changes between the prescriptive insulation requirements between the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS. \n2. Identify the insulation levels required by the 2025 ECCCNYS to meet the requirements for above grade walls\, floors\, ceilings\, slabs and foundation assemblies. \n3. Review specific insulation installation requirements \n4. Classify fenestration requirements and metrics

SUMMARY:C-NY-1 Cracking the Code: Commercial Updates to the 2025 ECCCNYS Part 1
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION: \nThe 2025 Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State (2025 ECCCNYS) has been adopted and is effective for new buildings starting on December 31\, 2025. This course will provide an overview of the major changes between the commercial provisions of the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS. Part 1 will look at the changes in the requirements for the building thermal envelope\, mechanical systems\, and more\, highlighting the major changes from the code update. \n  \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES: \n1. Determine which provisions of the 2025 ECCCNYS apply to projects following the prescriptive and simulated building performance pathways. \n2. Recognize the major differences between the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS for the thermal envelope\, mechanical systems and lighting. \n3. Examine which code section is applicable for different building components. \n4. Compare the minimum prescriptive insulation requirements for the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS.
