SUMMARY:Residential Air Sealing to 3 ACH50 - PART 1
DESCRIPTION:Relevant market research\, including the DOE Residential Field Study\, revealed significant noncompliance with 3 ACH50\, and multiple other field studies in nearby geographies and uncovered lack of proper insulation installation. This webinar training covers air sealing\, air barriers\, blower-door testing\, identification of potential leakage sites in CAD details\, 3D graphics\, and photographs\, for single family residential including other issues\, such as party walls\, in low-rise multifamily. This webinar is Part 1 of a two-part series on energy code envelope requirements. Both webinars include test-your-knowledge questions\, and guided discussion of pros/cons of various strategies. \nLearning Objectives: \n1. Understand how to review\, install\, and inspect details necessary to achieve an envelope leakage rate of 3 ACH50 or less \n2. Differentiate between several air sealing techniques \n3. Identify and resolve common leakage areas \n4. Understand code requirements for air sealing from the 2020 ECCCNYS Table 402.4.1.1 Air Barrier and Insulation Installation.

SUMMARY:NYStretch Energy Code for Residential Buildings - Part 2
DESCRIPTION:This course is Part 2 of a two-part series and covers the mechanical\, plumbing and lighting requirements for residential buildings in the NYStretch Code\, as well as requirements covering electric power systems. We will also discuss the relationship of this voluntary code to the mandatory New York City energy code.\n\n\nLearning objectives: \n1. Identify how mechanical equipment efficiencies and lighting factor into each energy code compliance option under NYStretch \n2. Identify differences between NYStretch the base code for mechanical\, plumbing and lighting systems \n3. Understand the Electric Power (Solar-ready and EV-ready) requirements 4. Identify and understand all mandatory requirements (items that must be met regardless of compliance path)

SUMMARY:The Energy Code and Existing Buildings (Residential) - Part 1
DESCRIPTION:This course will provide a review of IECC Chapter 5 [RE] provisions with an emphasis on situations where work performed on existing buildings requires them to meet the energy code like new construction. This includes additions\, new thermal envelope assemblies built as part of an alteration\, window replacements\, new heating\, cooling and duct systems\, new service hot water systems\, new lighting where 50 percent or more of the luminaires are replaced\, changes from unconditioned to conditioned space\, and commercial spaces converted to dwelling units. The course will provide numerous examples and ask attendees to identify the energy code requirements for each scenario. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \n-Determine when construction in existing buildings needs to meet the energy code like new construction \n-Determine situations where exceptions apply -Utilize REScheck to document\, determine\, and document exceptions \n-Understand various prescriptive energy code requirements for existing building projects requiring compliance\, like new construction
