COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will take a deep dive into the requirements for the building thermal envelope in Section R402 of the 2025 Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State. Part 1 will review the changes between the 2020 ECCCNYS and 2025 ECCCNYS, and the updates to the prescriptive insulation and fenestration requirements.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Distinguish changes between the prescriptive insulation requirements between the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS.
2. Identify the insulation levels required by the 2025 ECCCNYS to meet the requirements for above grade walls, floors, ceilings, slabs and foundation assemblies.
3. Review specific insulation installation requirements
4. Classify fenestration requirements and metrics
