Andrew Rodriguez – QA Field Manager
1. Where did you grow up? Where do you reside now?
I grew up in Hillside, New Jersey, and now reside in Sayreville, New Jersey.
2. What did you want to be when you grew up (when you were a child)?
Growing up as a child, I aspired to become a police officer.
3. What guided you into the energy efficiency industry?
About six years ago, I saw climate change quickly becoming a global problem and felt by joining this field, I could start with a small impact and move on to making changes on a higher level.
4. What does a day in your life at PSD look like?
As the current QA field manager, my day consists of responding to all questions or issues the inspectors may have, handling day-to-day tasks by assisting in and ensuring our energy efficiency programs maintain operation, and responding to contractor inquiries regarding our program policies and procedures.
5. Our company has five core values (Integrity, Passion, Collaboration, Vision, and Making an Impact). Which of these values resonates most with you and the work you do at PSD?
Integrity directly resonates the most with me as I hold what I do to the highest value and try to instill my values regarding energy efficiency to whomever I come across.
6. What is your favorite PSD-related memory?
My favorite was our all-company retreat/meeting. I got to meet other PSD employees who share similar views and values.
7. What do you do when you aren’t at work? Do you have any interesting hobbies?
When I am not working, I dive deep into hobbies consisting of photography, videography, and music.
8. Do you have any pets?
No, I live vicariously through others with pets.
9. What is your favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is the new year–I see it as a time of self-reflection and change for growth.
10. Favorite travel destination? Or dream travel destination?
My favorite travel destination is the Dominican Republic.
11. Favorite musician/genre?
My favorite genres of music would be Hip-Hop & House music.
12. What’s the top item on your bucket list? Have you checked anything cool or fun off?
My current top item on my bucket list is to ride a hot air balloon in Cappadocia. So far, I have crossed many countries off my bucket list, ranging from South America and Europe.
13. What is an interesting thing about yourself that people may not know?
I have always found this question difficult to answer as I tend to be transparent.
