Performance Systems Development, under a contract with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) analyzed the energy savings predictions and actual outcomes of over 6000 homes that received energy upgrades as part of the NYSERDA Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program.
One goal of the analysis was to determine the impact of applying the BPI-2400 ANSI Standard for calibration of energy models to actual billing data for the purposes of improving the accuracy of predictions. The follow executive summary describes the analysis and outcomes. This summary was originally provided to the Senate Finance Committee as part of their consideration of referencing the BPI-2400 standard in performance based energy efficiency tax credit legislation.
The full report is currently being finalized. Regulatory and government requests for access to the draft report can be made to NYSERDA via Kimberly Lenihan, Program Manager, Residential Energy Services Quality Standards and Compliance (kal@nyserda.ny.gov).
