C-NY-1 Cracking the Code: Commercial Updates to the 2025 ECCCNYS Part 2
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The 2025 Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State (2025 ECCCNYS) has been adopted and is effective for new buildings starting on December 31, 2025. This course will provide an overview of the major changes between the commercial provisions of the 2020 ECCCNYS and the 2025 ECCCNYS. Part 2 will cover lighting, compliance path options, and more, highlighting major changes from the code update-along with an in-depth review of Section C406, relating to additional efficiency requirements, which is a point-based credit system that requires buildings following the prescriptive path to earn a minimum number of credits to show compliance. It will also explore which credit options are available in this section as well as how
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. List the number of additional efficiency credits required in Section C406.
2. Compare and contrast when additional efficiency credit requirements (in C406.1.1) and additional efficiency and load management credit requirements (in C406.1.2) apply.
3. Apply Table C406.2 to commercial building projects based on the occupancy type and climate zone.
4. Describe the additional efficiency requirements for building core/shell and build-out construction.
