Performance Systems Development of New York, LLC (PSD) was recently awarded a contract from Snohomish County Public Utility District (SnoPUD) to implement its new Residential New Construction Program, SnoPUD Green Home Rewards. This program will provide incentives to builders for reducing energy waste, and drive participation in national above-code certification programs.

SnoPUD Green Home Rewards offers financial incentives to homebuilders for constructing homes that achieve EPA ENERGY STAR®, ENERGY STAR NextGen, Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready, and Built Green certification, with additional incentives for low-income projects. Homes will be required to meet comprehensive third-party verification standards for energy efficiency. This verification ensures each home will enhance comfort, improve energy performance, and provide financial savings to future homeowners.

Builders will also be eligible for Federal tax credits for building EPA ENERGY STAR and Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready homes. Tax credits range from $2,500 to $5,000 for single-family homes and $500 to $1,000 for multifamily units.

“PSD is excited to implement the Residential New Construction Program for Snohomish County PUD,” said Emelie Cuppernell Glitch, PSD’s VP of Program Services. “We look forward to expanding our services in the Pacific Northwest and collaborating with builders to improve energy savings for homebuyers in Snohomish County.”

“PSD is actively seeking builders to support the construction of the highest-quality, most energy-efficient homes for homebuyers in Snohomish County, WA,” said Zac Writesel, PSD’s Director of New Home Services. “PSD’s building science expertise and program management leadership will help further the adoption of energy-efficient building techniques and provide training opportunities to builders and HERS Raters across the county.”
