On September 7th, staff members from PSD’s Meadville office along with various family members, took part in the 21st annual French Creek French Creek Cleanup in Venango Township, PA. Close to 700 volunteers collected a whopping 35,720 pounds of bottles, cans, tires, car parts, shopping carts, old mattresses and other assorted junk from French Creek and its surrounding tributaries in the community challenge sponsored by the French Creek Valley Conservancy.
With five canoes and one kayak, PSD’s team of 12 plucked 1500 pounds of trash out of the river – quite an accomplishment! Special thanks goes to Jane Anderson, PSD’s Administrative Assistant, for pulling together the PSD cleanup crew.
